Coats for Seniors

Coats for Seniors 2017 Collection Begins October 15

Maine Association of Area Agencies on Aging announces the kick-off of the Coats for Seniors collection project for 2017.  This statewide project collects clean, gently used coats for older people in need.  In addition, for every coat collected, LL Bean will donate $5 for fuel assistance for older Mainers (to a  cap of $5000).  The collection project runs from October 15 through November 30.

Collection sites include the area agencies on aging and many community locations.  (See list below).  LL Bean will hold a community collection during their Northern Lights Festival, November 17 through 19.

Last year, the projected collected over 1600 coats which were distributed to older Mainers, and LL Bean matched the collection with $5000 for heating assistance for older people.
